PCEHR

The governments of Australia have tasked the National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA) to identify and foster the design and development of technology to deliver Australia’s future e-health system.

As part of the 2010/11 federal budget, the Government announced a $466.7 million investment over two years for a national Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) system for all Australians who choose to register online, from 2012-13.

From July 2012, all Australians who choose to can register for a PCEHR.

The Concept of Operations document provides an overview of the personally controlled electronic health record (PCEHR) system and how it will work.
