AGPT registrars interested in incorporating academic work into your career are encouraged to apply for a Commonwealth-funded Academic Post training term. This is your chance to gain exposure to research and the academic environment with mentoring and guidance from your supervisor, university and ACRRM.

ACRRM registrars can undertake Advanced Specialised Training in Academic Practice, Population Health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health or Remote Medicine. Consideration will also be given to an Academic Post being undertaken while in Core Generalist Training.

The College has funding available for Academic Post training terms in 2023. Funding includes a salary equivalent to a university lecturer at 0.5 FTE, professional development funding, and research funding.
